Week one of the new year and some things went as planned, some didn’t.
I published my collection of stories from the past few years. I’ve made - and am still making - a few tweaks to the presentation, the most significant of which was new cover art not quite so obviously AI-generated.
My plan to publish one short story a week in addition to everything else didn’t work out. I usually have two days a week that are pretty full-on, work-wise, plus the New Years Day holiday that had me moderately well wrecked.
So I’m behind on the first story in a new series. Not to worry. I know where it’s going, I’ve solved a few plot problems, and I’m enjoying the writing. I’m at the flirting stage and that’s always fun to write.
Cover art is in train. I have an image of a Qantas spaceplane launching into orbit. I’m not entirely happy with it but it has the Qantas livery more or less correct.
The numbers
I’m not getting rich this week but I am actually quite pleased with even a modest beginning. One of my books was downloaded dozens of times. Of course this was the one I made available for free download via a promotion!
I have two detailed graphs for paid subscribers this week, one showing Kindle Unlimited income, the other a total for both pages read on KU and outright purchases.
